Research on existing cancer research posters

After I received the email from cancer Research UK, I immediately started researching. This was the very first series of posters that I researched, the poster were very striking, it uses a combination of photography and typography.

The photograph of each patient is taken very differently. the impact of the images is in their patients eye. I really like how the background is blurred this brings out the foreground and also it makes the foreground sharp. The colour has a huge contrast, the dark elements are more dark and the light elements are more light. The fact is that the patients are looking right at the audience, this makes the audience feel sympathy, I guess thats what the creator intended.

The typography is also brilliantly positioned I like how the phrase ‘I shouldn’t be here’ is typed right in front of the image. Those words a very important, again it makes the audience feel sympathy.
